From fresh veggies and pita bread, to our tandoori chicken kebabs, we’re loving this tangy yogurt dipping sauce with everything. Putting the ingredients together is quite easy, and tzatziki stores nicely, making it a great snacking staple for the entire week. While fresh tzatziki is delicious, we think it tastes even better the day after it’s made!
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cup Greek yogurt
1 medium or ½ hothouse cucumber, seeded and diced (about 1 Cup)
1 small clove garlic, chopped
Juice of ½ lemon
1 TBSP or more fresh dill
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION:
This sauce is another one-step prep dish. Just mix everything together into one dish, and it is ready to be served alongside any meal or snack.
Note: A truly traditional approach to this Greek dish involves straining the yogurt, and draining the cucumbers after chopping to remove excess water. However, I find it’s just as delicious when it’s thrown all together, which is simply a quicker and easier approach. I’ve even been known to use dried dill in place of fresh dill in a pinch (ahem, frequently). Whatever approach you decide to take, the sauce will taste great!
