These maple glazed pecans are great as a snack, on a charcuterie board, or added to salad. You can even have them as a sophisticated ice cream topping. They’re sweet with just the right amount of heat.
Did you know pecans are loaded with health benefits? Sure, they’re a good source of fiber, but also copper, vitamin B1, zinc, and magnesium which support immune health and energy. What I know is that I love their meaty texture and buttery flavor.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cup raw pecan halves
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Pinch salt
PREPARATION:
Add all ingredients to a small frying pan. Simmer over medium heat until water has evaporated, stirring frequently. You want the liquid to be mostly evaporated. You will know pecans are done when you start to see crystallization on the nuts. Pay attention to heat, and turn down if necessary. Otherwise pecans will toast or burn.
Spread pecans onto parchment-lined cookie sheet to cool.
